Qype Deploys RPX to Enhance Login Experience and Increase Engagement

Today, we are very pleased to announce that Qype, Europe's largest user-generated business ratings and reviews site, has deployed RPX to allow easy registration and sign in from Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo, MySpace and Windows Live ID. By deploying RPX, Qype will benefit from increased registrations and activity on its sites while gaining a rich set of user profile data from the identity providers.

Qype has embedded the RPX widget in an iframe on its site:

RPX handles all the protocols of the OpenID providers (including Google, Yahoo, AOL, MySpaceID and more) in addition to the appropriate APIs of Facebook, Twitter and Windows Live ID, enabling websites to deploy third party authentication more quickly and cost effectively than if attempting a native implementation.

"We were very keen on integrating the major third party identity providers, but not that keen on doing it six times," said Phil Chambers, CTO of Qype. "JanRain's solution saved us time and complexity, is very cost effective, and allows us to scale. Our new 2-click registration process, besides making it simple to leave your opinion on Qype, also brings other benefits such as many more registered users instantly bringing profile pictures."

With over 13 million monthly unique visitors, Qype operates websites in ten countries, seven languages and more than 15,000 cities and towns across Europe. We are excited to see Qype utilize RPX to optimize its sign in experience and enable users to engage and interact more profoundly with the site.

RPX Deployed on DC Shoes Famous Footwear Site

Today, we are excited to announce that RPX has been deployed on the DC Shoes Famous Footwear website, providing an enhanced sign in experience that leverages the existing accounts of its users from providers like Facebook, Google, Yahoo, MySpace and AOL. We enjoyed working with Instrument, an interactive agency that has worked extensively with sports and lifestyle brands, to integrate RPX on the DC Shoes Famous Footwear site. RPX will enable DC Shoes and Famous Footwear to increase user registrations and quickly gain a rich set of user profile data, while helping its users interact in a more personal manner with the products and offerings on the site.

The DC Shoes Famous Footwear site utilizes the flash version of the RPX widget:

Our work with Instrument follows partnerships with great companies like Viewpoints Network (which integrated RPX on its site as well as the community websites of Sears and Kmart), and Oniracom (which integrated RPX on the artist site for Lenny Kravitz).

“We were thoroughly impressed with the quality, ease of integration and robust features of the RPX solution, as well as the professionalism and support that JanRain offered through the process,” said Vince LaVecchia, Founder and Marketing Director at Instrument. “We’re proud to be part of the RPX Agency Partner Program for this innovative product and we look forward to future integrations of JanRain products and services.”

RPX is an optimal solution for interactive agencies looking to optimize the web presence of their clients, and because RPX is simple to deploy, the costs and burden for an agency's development team are minimal.
